Anti-Acetylcholinesterase and Synergistic Antifungal Activities of Selected Salvia Species: Correlation with Metabolic Profiles

چکیده
Salvia species are known for their anti-fungal and anti-acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity. Metabolomics is defined as a comprehensive quantitative qualitative analysis of large-scale metabolites. In this study, besides determining synergistic antifungal activities selected (S. cryptantha Montbret & Aucher ex Benth., S. tchihatcheffii (Fisch. C. A. Mey.) Boiss., officinalis L., virgata Jacq.), the metabolite profiles were clarified correlation analyzes between activity results carried out. Aerial parts all plant materials extracted by methanol to determine metabolic profile using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) LC-QTOF-MS (Liquid Chromatography Quadrupole Time Flight Mass Spectrometry). Also, Ellman's spectrophotometric method checkerboard extracts fluconazole performed. 295 1408 unknown metabolites detected while 346 69008 LC-QTOF-MS. cryptantha, tchihatcheffii, officinalis, demonstrated inhibitory on AChE with ratio 32.72%, 5.9%, 43.96%, 12.1% respectively at concentration 200 µg/mL. A synergism was found sp. against Candida tropicalis ATCC 750 strain (FICI values ≤0.5). addition, primary secondary metabolites, which highly correlated both activities, determined. All exhibited synergic having weak Combining natural products synthetic drugs important in order increase efficacy. At same time, herbal must be used carefully point herb-drug interactions. Further studies needed investigate active according results.

In this study, the antioxidant, antiacetylcholinesterase, anti-inflammatory, and DNA protecting activities of the aerial parts of Glaucium grandiflorum var. grandiflorum were evaluated. It was found that the lyophilized methanolic extract exhibited an inhibitory capacity against FeCl3/ascorbic acid induced posphatidylcholine liposome oxidation (EC50 = 2.62 0.08 mg/mL), quenched HOCl (5.87 0...
